One base unit for all modules
In the future, a base unit with a local user interface, communications interfaces, a power supply, basic electronics, and software will allow for the integration of different analysis modules. These modules consist of the actual analyzer and the sensor-related electronics, including evaluation software and necessary interfaces. The base unit also provides enough space for an optional gas management module that regulates the pressure of the corresponding sample gas and removes dust or droplets of condensate, thus eliminating the need for costly external sample preparation in many cases.

Freely combinable, easy to swap
Each base unit can accommodate two modules – in every variation. The integration of two identical analysis modules is possible, as is the combination of different measuring devices. Parallel operation of paramagnetic and electrochemical oxygen sensors on the same platform is also feasible.
This provides maximum flexibility in the configuration of individual analytic solutions and simplifies retrofitting or modifications if the measurement task should change.
Even in the case of maintenance or repair, the module concept remains user-friendly. It is easy to quickly swap out a module on-site, without replacing the base unit.
The previously valid measurement parameters are automatically transmitted from the base unit to the replacement module. To enable quick and easy swapping without re-recording temperature characteristics, the modules are thermostatically controlled.
Their operation is also unaffected by the ambient temperature and external temperature fluctuations, providing greater measurement stability. The analysis modules of series 7 can now be operated at ambient temperatures up to 50°C, which enables their use even in desert climates.

Uniform operation
All modules of the new series have a uniform operating concept.
The base unit, which is available in various housing types (rack-mounted, wall-mounted, and field device), is equipped with a local user interface – display plus keyboard. The high-resolution display shows measured values in digital form,
The operating software was re-created from scratch, with a focus on clear menu guidance and extensive user support. For example, for the initial start-up an installation wizard leads the user safely through the commissioning process with clear and unambiguous instructions. The software is multilingual for convenient worldwide use.
During operation, the modules provide information about service intervals, residual service life of wear parts, and need for adjustment, thus enabling the implementation of predictive maintenance concepts.
All measurement data, including external parameters, are stored for 24 hours; maintenance-related data for service are kept separately. As was previously the case, PC operation through a remote user interface is possible. Industrial Ethernet is used as the standard communications interface for optimal integration into today’s networks. Modbus, Profibus, and Foundation Fieldbus interfaces are also available.
